What a year! I was thrilled to be included in 3 exhibits as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Duluth Fiber Guild. From January through May, my Poppy Passion scarf was included at the UMD Tweed Museum of Art. It was humbling, exciting and empowering to be included as an artist at the Tweed, which was part of my administrative life at UMD for more than 30 years. In June and July, Poppy Passion and Sunrise Tree were exhibited at the MacRostie Art Center in Grand Rapids, MN. In September, Swirling Swans was included at the Duluth Nordic Center. Quite a ride!

Meet Lucy KragnessMy name is Lucy Kragness, and I live with my husband, Robb Hermanson, in Duluth, Minnesota. Our home, which I call the Harbor Haven, is halfway up the hill and overlooks Lake Superior and the Duluth/Superior Harbor and St. Louis Bay. Since retiring in 2016, I have broadened my love of photography with a newfound passion for creating wearable art. It has been so satisfying to use my photographs as inspiration for my felt designs. Hopefully you will enjoy my designs as much as I enjoy creating them. I grew up in Minneapolis and moved to Duluth in November 1984, when I began a long career at the University of Minnesota Duluth. After discovering nuno felting from Duluth fiber artist Patty Salo Downs in 2013, I was hooked. When I retired, I set up my fiber studio in our home. To learn more about my "other" life, click here.
