It's been so much fun to see all the photographs that club members have posted this week on facebook! Look down, around, into the light and you never know what will reflect back at you. This WARMER weather has made it much more palatable to head out puddle watching. A statistic I didn't need to know: Duluth hasn't been above 50 degrees for 145 days. Now YOU know! Enjoy these photos, and to see all the excellent work check: DWC Camera Club on Facebook

What to do with all these photos!

I'm sheepish to discuss how I manage all my photos, mainly because I'm a miserable failure after my "big" DSLR camera shoots. I've got more photos than I'm going to admit now backed up on the iCloud. I'm not the best at doing what a good editor should do - immediately after a photo shoot delete the duds and catalog the rest. It's so easy to fall into the trap: I can always find the photos I want by the date they were shot!

I've had a lot more success organizing photos on my iPhone, which makes it pretty easy to sort photos into customizable albums. Below are links to a detailed look at how to organize on the iOS system for iPhones and iPads, and for androids.

Setting up albums is a big step to making sense of all of your photos. The tip that has helped me the most -- when I want to share photos on social media or make prints, I mark the photos and save into the Favorites album. Much easier to just go to the Favorites album instead of sorting by date. You can always use the default albums, or create your own. Avoid overdoing it and setting up too many albums, creating another organizational challenge!

Reflections on reflections!

The camera club is hitting its stride! We have met three times, and it's been a lot of fun to share ideas and learn from each other. We have focused on the mechanics of how to use our smartphone cameras, and have agreed that repetition is the key! We have really hit our groove this last week, when members went on the search for reflections/shadows, taking advantage of the melting snow and noticing the wild world staring back at us in so many ways. Many members shared their photographs in the camera club facebook group. If interested in joining, check out:
